Michael is a successful civil litigator and expertly navigates his clients to a just result. Michael has extensive experience in high stakes negotiations throughout the country. Whether in a courtroom or negotiations session, he is skilled at advocating his clients position and ensures that success is achieved.
Michael is currently working on several high profile police misconduct cases as well as working on the Douglas Stankewitz case. In addition, Michael has testified before the state Assembly and Senate Judiciary committees on creating an evidentiary privilege for union representative and member communications.
Michael is skilled in negotiations, media relations, and contract reviews.
COMMUNITY & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Following law school, Seville opened his own law firm, Seville Law, where he represented unions and workers. He has served as the Executive Director for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 75 in Oregon and for Council 57 in California, representing tens of thousands civil servants throughout the West Coast. He now is dedicating his entire profession to serving the needs of his clients with Seville Briggs, LLP.
Michael has been an active civil rights and labor and employment lawyer, representing workers and unions in arbitrations, litigation and settlement discussions and is committed to excellence and fighting relentlessly for his clients.
He received his bachelor’s degree in Politics at the University of California, Santa Cruz and his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law and received the American Bar Association Award for Excellence in the study of labor and employment law.
